Light industrial scheme gains approval
A light industrial scheme proposed for a site near a Leicestershire business park has been approved.The site is currently occupied by horse racing stables, a manège and associated buildings.It is adjacent to other buildings in a variety of employment and commercial type uses, known as the Jubilee Business Park, and which the proposed development “would effectively extend”.Lined up is three detached buildings to provide five units. The scheme extends to approximately 16,000 sq ft.”The proposal would attract investment resulting in economic growth and job creation,” a planning statement said. “The proposed development brings social, economic and environmental benefits and very much falls within the definition of sustainable development.”North West Leicestershire District Council has now approved the project, subject to conditions.An officer’s report said: “It is considered that the proposed development would be acceptable in principle, particularly when having regard to the range of uses permissible in this location.”
