Approval for Western Growth Corridor phase
Detailed plans for a phase of development at Lincoln’s Western Growth Corridor have been approved.City of Lincoln Council and Lindum Homes sought reserved matters approval to build 52 homes on land at Skellingthorpe Road.Hybrid plans were approved in January 2022 for the development of the Western Growth Corridor.The full element granted permission for the means of access to the development from Skellingthorpe Road and Tritton Road while the outline element granted consent for the construction of up to 3,200 dwellings, a local centre, primary school, commercial uses, leisure uses, highway infrastructure and open space.The current application relates to phase 1A, and proposes a mix of two- and three-storey units. These include detached, semi-detached and terraced propertiesThe council’s planning committee reviewed the scheme at a meeting on 31 January.A report for the committee said: “The principle of the use of the site for residential purposes was established by the existing consent.”The proposals would not result in harm to neighbour’s amenity and the development would provide an acceptable level of amenity for future occupants.”Members voted to approve the application, subject to conditions.
