An affordable housing development proposed for land near an Asda in Oldbury has been recommended for approval.Countryside Partnerships, Asda and McLagan Investments Ltd are seeking planning permission to build 60 homes on land off Titford Road.The site is bound by an Asda supermarket to the west, with its car park adjoining the application site to the north-west and Langley Primary School to the east.A variety of house types are proposed, with the majority arranged in rows of terraces and pairs of semi-detached units.Sandwell Council will consider the application on 21 February.A report for the committee said: “The application proposes an appropriate reuse of brownfield land which would deliver a much-needed mix of affordable housing.”The potential for any significant impact on the amenity of the local area and ecology would be addressed by appropriate mitigation.”
