Green light nears for Somerset outline plans
Outline plans for 40 homes in Somerset have been recommended for approval.Your Land Partner Ltd has submitted the application for land west of Silver Street in the village of South Petherton.Of the 40 properties, 26 would be market houses and 14 affordable homes. Proposed is a mix of one- to four-bedroom homes. There would also be the creation of a new access, with a single garage demolished as part of the proposals. The outline application seeks consideration for the development’s principle. This includes the number and mix of dwellings, affordable housing, and access. All other aspects are reserved for later consideration. The application had been deferred from the Somerset Council Planning Committee – South meeting in January. This was to allow for a landscape professional’s appraisal of the applicants landscape visual impact assessment and the presence of a representative from the highways authority to attend the next committee meeting to assist planners.A report for the committee said an appraisal has now been carried out and the highway authority confirmed that a representative will be present.Somerset’s South committee will discuss the application on Tuesday (27 February).Approval has been recommended subject to conditions and a s106 agreement.
