Hotel extension in Guildford set to be approved
Plans for a 27-room extension at a hotel in Guilford are set to be approved. The Mandolay Hotel, located on the eastern side of London Road, has sought a two-story extension at the rear of the building. The plans were put forward by hotelier Stephen Hay.The application will provide 25 new bedrooms for the main hotel extension and an additional two bedrooms in the new Coach House Extension.Mandolay has said the proposed development will support the local economy with the additional rooms improving the commercial offer of its hotel, as well as the provision of more jobs in the area.Plans are in place to mitigate the tight parking situation onsite, which could impact both the hotel and other business located in the area during the construction of the development. The application will be scrutinised by the Guildford Council Committee at its planning meeting on 22 May.
