Planning secured for 192 new homes in Wantage
Persimmon Homes Planning has been granted planning permission to build 192 new homes in Grove, Wantage.A wide range of quality new homes will be available for local people by Persimmon’s Wessex region and its sister brand, Charles Church.As part of the planning permission and wider community benefit, Persimmon will also transfer 51 properties on the next phase to a housing association for the purposes of affordable and social housing for local people.The house builders will also be delivering two primary schools, serviced land for a secondary school, community hub, sports facilities, play pitches, play areas, public open spaces and allotments as part of the new sustainable community.Seb Spiller, deputy managing director of Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: “We’re very pleased to have secured permission for the next phase of development at Wellington Gate, which will deliver quality new homes for local people in Wantage and the wider Oxfordshire area.“This latest planning approval will ensure continuity in build on site at Wellington Gate as we seek to play our part in addressing the housing crisis through market properties and new social homes.”
