10 000 Kensington & Chelsea houses to get revamp in home improvements plan
£90m worth of improvement works to homes in Kensington & Chelsea are to take place up until 2019 after housing and regeneration specialist Keepmoat are helping carry it out.As part of Kensington & Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation’s (KCTMO) Future Fit programme, Keepmoat is delivering improvements to 9,467 properties across the borough, home to around 2,550 leaseholders.Works include new kitchens, bathrooms, electrical wiring and heating where applicable and in some cases, internal layout alterations.Other works which are due to start shortly include repair and upgrading of the structure and external fabric of buildings and replacement of roofs and windows.External decorations and decorations to communal areas are also to be revamped alongside environmental works including hard and soft landscaping, replacement of paths and paving works, provision of fencing and play equipment.
