£106m investment for new homes
Social landlord Hyde Housing and Brighton & Hove Council have committed £106m to a new joint venture to develop 1,000 homes, a move which aims to tackle the housing shortage in the South East and London.Social landlord Hyde Housing owns or manages approximately 50,000 homes in London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, the East of England and East Midlands.The housing association and Brighton & Hove Council have entered into a partnership to build 500 rented homes for tenants and 500 part-buy part-rent homes aimed at buyers who cannot afford to buy a home outright, known as a shared ownership scheme. They have each comitted £53m into the housing venture.
