£120m barnsley transformation advances as tenants named
Two major leisure brands have been secured for the second phase of a £120m transformation of Barnsley town centre which has the capacity to support 800 jobs.Barnsley Council has committed a further £70m to fund the scheme, now named The Glass Works.Located on a 9.4-acre site around Cheapside, the Glass Works will incorporate a 590,000 sq ft family-led day time and night time offer, including a range of new shops, restaurants, multiplex cinema and bowling, alongside a new home for Barnsley’s historic markets, a central library and public realm.
