150 homes to be developed on business park site
More than 150 houses are set to be developed on a site in Abergele previously earmarked for a business park.Macbryde Homes has been given the go-ahead by Conwy County Borough Council to construct 156 units ranging from two-bedroom mews-style homes, through to three-bedroom and four-bedroom detached family homes, on the 14.8 acre site lies between the A547 and the A55 North Wales expressway. The developer has estimated that 265 jobs will be created, 92 of which will be directly involved in the construction of the site. The North Wales Business Park on the site was never fully finished; however the facilities that were created, including a medical centre, pharmacy and transport link, made the remaining land suitable for residential development. The site owners placed an application with the council four years ago to free the land for residential use, and it was subsequently identified as an allocated housing site in Conwy’s 2013 local development plan. Macbryde Homes then submitted detailed plans for the development of the site in 2016.
