1,500-home Northwich proposals tabled by Gladman
A huge new development is in the pipeline at Winnington Works in Northwich, with plans including more than 1,500 homes and a care home.Gladman Developments has applied for outline planning permission to Cheshire West and Chester Council for the Winnington Lane site. TATA Chemicals Europe and INOVYN Enterprises have brought forward the scheme in partnership with Gladman Developments.Proposals include 1,550 houses, including affordable housing; 118,403 sq ft of elderly people’s accommodation, including residential care home; and a two-form entry primary school with playing fields.Also included is a local centre with 6,458 sq ft of space for shops including a convenience store, space for health, nursery and community use, employment space and space for café, restaurant, takeaway and pub. A park, allotments and new connected green spaces and cycle and walkways also feature.As part of the proposals, the war memorial from opposite Winnington Hall would be moved to “a more prominent civic location”.
