£1bn plans submitted for 1,000 new Glasgow homes
Glasgow councillors will this week consider a plan to spend more than £1 billion on 1,000 new affordable homes.Under the five-year scheme, the council would contribute £600 million and a similar amount would come from private investors.The plans will go before the authority’s planning committee on Thursday and will be submitted to the Scottish Government for approval if it is backed by councillors.A report to councillors says the new housing “will contribute to the continuing regeneration of Glasgow’s neighbourhoods”.
