200 homes approved for former Mirrlees Blackstone site
Planning permission has been granted for the construction of 200 homes on a former Mirrlees Blackstone site in Stamford.A contract to acquire the 14.8-acre site was signed in 2020 and the planning application, which was made by Vistry Partnerships in collaboration with Cross Keys Homes, WM Morrison and New River Retail, has been approved by South Kesteven District Council.The £47.5m pound scheme is the third live project between Vistry and Cross Key Homes.It will provide 127 affordable and 73 open market properties, which will be sold by Linden Homes, also part of Vistry Group.The Stamford proposals include an agreement to improve local community facilities, a contribution towards healthcare provision, as well as cycle paths and open green spaces.Work is due to start in the spring of 2022.
