210-home plan for Wetherby emerges
Formal planning documents have been submitted for a 210-home development on Harrogate Road in Wetherby.Hallam Land Management and Stockeld Park has submitted a request for an Environmental Impact Assessment Screening for a Wetherby site to Harrogate Borough Council.Prior to submitting full plans for the site, Hallam Land Management and Stockeld Park have submitted a request for the screening to ensure that the land would be able to be developed into housing.Located on land at Harrogate Road to the north west of Wetherby, the site is approximately 13 hectares of agricultural land.The outlined proposal is for 210 properties with two or more bedrooms and based on that number of properties, the developer would have to make a contribution of £713,790 for primary education facilities as a result of this development and £553,998 for secondary school facilities at this time.There are residential properties being constructed to the immediate southeast of the site.The Environment Agency’s indicative flood zone map shows the site would not be at risk of flooding.
