215-home scheme at former school set for green light
A 215 home development at the site of a former school in Dinas Powys is poised for the green light after planners recommended its approval.The development by Barratt Developments makes up one of several the company has planned for South Wales, which the company says will add up to 700 homes and support 2,000 local jobs.Outline permission for development of the 12 acre site at the former St Cyres Lower School is to be discussed by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.The plans are subject to a section 106 agreement which would see 40 per cent affordable housing, a £1.76m contribution towards education, a £494,500 contribution towards sustainable transport and a contribution towards public art equal to one per cent of project costs.
