22-storey Portsmouth tower set for nod
Plans to redevelop a Portsmouth site into a 22-storey apartment block are set to get the green light from the city council.The rectangular plot on Arundel Street is currently home to Portsmouth Shopmobility.Permission is being sought for the construction of a 22-storey tower comprising 76 units, as well as ground floor commercial space housing a cafe or restaurant fronting Arundel Street.The housing would include one, two and three-bed dwellings and the development includes a green roof on the fifth floor.The scheme has been recommended for approval ahead of a Portsmouth City Council planning committee meeting on 9 September 2020.Final approval is subject to a number of conditions.
