2,500-home plans recommended for approval

Plans for a development of 2,500 homes, a village centre, health care facilities and a new primary school look set to get the go-ahead at a council meeting later this week (31 July).North Lincolnshire Council will consider three applications from developer Maltgrade for the Lincolnshire Lakes scheme, on land to the south west of Scunthorpe.Outline planning permission is sought for the development of up to 2,500 homes, a primary school, health care facility and a village centre.A second application covers the construction of a new terminating junction to the M181 motorway and a link road connecting to the B1450.Finally, a hybrid application will be considered for three new lakes, leisure and recreational facilities, parkland and open space.The scheme would be developed in a series of phases, with ultimate completion in 2028.The applications will go before North Lincolnshire Council’s Planning committee on 31 July and are recommended for approval, subject to the signing of a Section 106 agreement, in a planning officer’s report.
