£30m housing plans set for approval

Plans to build more than 170 homes in a £30m investment designed to regenerate three rundown town centre sites are set to be approved by councillors.Rotherham Council’s Cabinet will consider the proposals for Sheffield Road Car Park, Millford House and the former Henley’s Garage site on 21 October.The Sheffield Road car park development would comprise 78 homes (44 council, 34 private), with 39 homes at Millfold House (25 council, 14 private) and 54 homes on the former garage in Wellgate (23 council, 31 shared ownership).The three sites are all at gateway locations in the town centre and are adjacent to land with potential for further housing development.The council and partner Wilmot Dixon Construction have submitted planning applications for all three sites.
