33-storey tower plans submitted
Plans have been lodged for a new 33-storey tower as part of a 300-bed residential development on the site of a grade II-listed mill in Leeds.CityLife and Nick Brown Architects, supported by ID Planning, have submitted a full planning and listed building applications to Leeds City Council for the Midlands Mills site in the Holbeck Urban Village.Construction of a new 33-storey tower, to be known as ‘Midland Tower’ is proposed. This would comprise a total of 284 apartments, with a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bed units. A total of 144 bicycle parking spaces would be created on the ground floor.The exiting Midland Mills buildings would be converted to provide a further 22 apartments and about 4,750 sq ft of commercial space.Public realms works are also proposed to connect Midland Tower and Midland Mills. A 5 per cent affordable housing provision is included.
