350-home development set for green light
A 350-home development on the site of a former school is poised to receive the go-ahead after officers recommended it for approval.The site, which was previously home to the now-demolished Hartcliffe Community Campus until 2006, is currently vacant.If approved, the site will include 102 one-bed apartments, 116 two-bed apartments, then 20 two-bed townhouses, 99 three-bed townhouses and 13 four-bed townhouses.The plans also include solar panels for the townhouses on-site, with an energy centre and substation on the 20.5 acre site.The site is currently owned by Bristol City Council.If permission is granted, a developer would then be sought to move forward with the plans.The development control committee is to meet tomorrow to discuss the proposals.
