400-homes bid poised for go-ahead

Up to 400 homes could be constructed in Nottinghamshire if the plans are voted through by councillors next week and not called in by the government.Applicant William Davis Ltd is behind the bid for land off Shelford Road in Radcliffe-on-Trent. The 48.5-acre site currently comprises agricultural land with farm buildings to the north.The outline application, which will be voted on by Rushcliffe Borough Council at a meeting on Thursday 11 October, also includes a primary school and health centre.If approved, an average of 90 homes would be built per year.Council planning officers have recommended that committee members refer the application to the National Planning Casework Unit and that, subject to the application not being called in for determination by the secretary of state for communities and local government, the executive manager for communities be authorised to grant planning permission.
