50-homes plan for agricultural land

A scheme to build more than 50 homes on agricultural land in Preston has been lodged. Housing organisation Community Gateway Association has submitted an application to Preston City Council to construct 58 houses at land off Tabley Lane, Higher Bartle. The site is made up of several connected fields currently used for agricultural purposes.The proposals would comprise of a mix of one, two, three and four-bed homes in a mixture of houses and apartments. Vehicular, cycle, and pedestrian access into the development, known as Parcel A, is to be via the adjacent site known as Parcel B. This is subject to a separate reserved matters application.The site benefits from an outline planning permission which was approved in December 2018.The application will be considered at a future meeting of Preston City Council’s planning committee.
