£70m scheme set to transform Poole waterfront
A £70m residential and commercial scheme is set to provide a boost to the economy of Poole’s waterfront, according to the developer behind the plans.An application to create 291 apartments at West Quay Marina, along with 9,000 sq ft of commercial space, including restaurants and shops, was officially given the go-ahead by Borough of Poole’s planning committee last week.MMC Land & Regeneration is behind the project, which was designed by Calderpeel Architects.The development is located on the site of a former timber yard and industrial units next to Twin Sails Bridge.New buildings ranging from five to ten-storeys will be created featuring a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties.Mark Russell, managing director of MMC Land & Regeneration, said the scheme would bring significant economic benefits to the area.
