Agreements signed for Horizon 38 developments

Two key agreements have been signed at Horizon 38, a one million sq ft mixed-use scheme currently under development in Bristol.Joint development partners St Francis Group and iSec have announced the signing of two tenants at the park.A deal has been signed with Village Hotels for the development of a new 153-bedroom hotel on the corner of the A38 and Gypsy Patch Lane. The £21m project could support the creation of 100 new jobs and act as a catalyst for the wider Horizon 38 scheme.Work is due to commence in August 2017 following completion of the internal site infrastructure works and estate road construction and the hotel is expected to be open by summer 2018.Detailed planning consent has also been granted by South Gloucestershire Council for a new 35,000 sq ft Selco trade centre on a 2.45-acre plot. Selco take a 15-year lease at an undisclosed rent. Building work is set to begin in March and be completed by October 2017.Horizon 38 is a landmark strategic development site fronting onto the A38 in Filton, near the former Filton airfield, Airbus and Rolls-Royce Engines manufacturing plants.Steelwork has also started to go up on the start of development of 580,000 sq ft of industrial space being built in four phases at the park, funded by BP pension fund.Giles Weir of JLL is the joint letting agent on the development together with Paul Hobbs of Bilfinger GVA.
