Alderley Park homes masterplan recommended for approval
A homes scheme, which forms part of a wider development on a Cheshire site, looks set to get passed.Jones Homes and Alderley Park Limited are bidding to build 50 units on two separate sites at Alderley Park, Nether Alderley. The first site referred to as the Walled Garden proposes the building of 17 units, arranged with a landscaped area running around the inside of the wall. Properties will face towards that, creating a central area for parking and private amenity space. The second site referred to as the Kitchen Garden proposes the building of 33 units arranged with a more inward looking layout with properties backing onto the site boundaries. The properties are largely detached, although some are arranged in close proximity to each other. The houses in the walled garden are largely two storey – with three storey properties at the site entrance. In the kitchen garden the properties are more of a mix of two and three storey properties. Both sites are two of the remaining undeveloped residential parcels in the southern campus area of Alderley Park.Alderley Park has been the subject of a significant number of planning applications in recent years. These include a series of applications associated with the residential development of the southern campus, redevelopment of the Parklands office block, now occupied by Royal London, a new leisure complex and more minor developments in the Mereside area.Planning permission has also been granted for laboratory, offices and light manufacturing floorspace, retail, café, restaurant and pub floorspace. Permission has also been given for 275 homes, a 100-bed hotel, sports and recreational facilities including a sports centre and a 534-spaces multi-storey car park. The latest proposals for the area have now been recommended for approval subject to condition and a section 106 agreement.Cheshire East Council’s Northern planning committee will meet on Wednesday 1 September.
