Almost 270 Derbyshire homes advance
Proposals for almost 270 homes as part of a wider development in Derbyshire have moved forward.Vistry Partnership and Homes England sought reserved matters approval to build 265 properties on Meadow Lane in Shirebrook. The site benefits from outline permission for up to 700 dwellings, including the provision of open space and commercial/community uses.Subsequent reserved matters applications have been submitted and approved for phases 1A and 1B of the wider Brookvale housing development. The newly lodged plans, representing phase 1C, would provide a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, 51 of which will be allocated as affordable.A statement filed with Bolsover District Council on behalf of the applicant said the previous outline permission “establishes the principle of development of the site, supported by the allocation of the site for housing in the local plan”.It added: “The proposals are considered to be appropriate in terms of scale, appearance, landscaping, layout and access.”Based on the above, it is considered that in accordance with the NPPF, the proposals should be approved without delay to support the delivery of the third and final phase of this development.”An officer’s report said: “Details of the reserved matters of layout, scale, appearance and landscaping have been provided and, as amended, it is considered that the proposals would result in a good quality development which accords with the Brookvale development brief.”The application has now been approved, subject to conditions.
