Amazon outlines 1,000 job-creating plans
Amazon has given more details on its plans to create more than 1,000 permanent jobs by opening a new base in Nottinghamshire. Construction of the new site began last year.The state-of-the-art robotics fulfilment centre will be located in Sutton-in-Ashfield to help meet customer demand and enable SMBs selling on Amazon to scale their businesses.Amazon has started recruiting for a range of new roles, including engineers, HR and IT professionals through to health & safety and finance specialists and operations managers.The 550,000 sq ft centre will be equipped with advanced Amazon Robotics technology.Sutton-in-Ashfield will be Amazon’s fourth fulfilment centre in the East Midlands following centres in Chesterfield, Kegworth and Coalville.
