The current contract for Ambulance Services in Sheffield is projected to end on 7/11/2016 and may be available for re-tender.The current contract for Ambulance Services in Sheffield included to provide a secure patient transport service for users of mental health and related services. The service will include, but not be limited to, journeys to and from secure and non-secure locations, places of residence, NHS and private hospitals, courts, police stations, community locations and places of safety. The scope of the service to be provided includes both the provision of transport but also the associated escort service including where necessary qualified and competent staff and trained medical personnel necessary to ensure the safe transport of patients and service users. Please note, that while this requirement is primarily for the provision of a range of secure patient transport services it may also include some non-secure patient journeys (non-emergency patient transport services).The resulting framework agreement will be available for use by a range of NHS, healthcare, community and other organisations involved in the provision of services including mental health, learning disability, healthcare, community and related services.
