Another attempt for 500 homes and country park bid

A final decision on plans for almost 500 new homes and a 40-acre country park in Staffordshire is set to be made next week (14 January 2018). The proposals were previously given the green light in the summer, but councillors had been asked to rule on the application for a second time after a section 106 agreement wasn’t signed by the November deadline.Deanslade Park Consortium and Taylor Wimpey are behind the scheme for Deanslade Park on land south of Falkland Road in Lichfield.Lichfield District Council approved the application at a meeting on 2 July 2018 for a total of 475 homes alongside the country park, a one-form-entry primary school and sports pitches. The application was first submitted to the council in August 2017.However, councillors were due vote again on the plans at a meeting on 17 December after it was recommended for approval for a second time but the committee’s chairman deferred making a final decision until a future meeting.That meeting will now take place next Monday.
