Apartments planned for former chapel

A former chapel in Leeds could be converted into a development of apartments under newly-submitted plans.Kippford Developments, supported by NJ Architects, has submitted an application to Leeds City Council for the redevelopment of a former Methodist chapel building in Rodley.The chapel dates back to 1850s and was most recently used as a photography studio with ancillary office space.Full planning permission is sought for the conversion and extension of the building to create 14 new apartments.Four one- and two-bedroom apartments each will be developed on the lower ground, ground and first floors, with a new second floor created within the roof containing a further pair of two-bed flats.Communal amenity facilities and 19 on-site car parking spaces would also be provided.Plans for the residential conversion of the property were previously granted in 2011. Work started on the project but halted as commercial issues affected the viability of the project.
