Approval for 50 Nottingham Homes

Plans to build 50 homes on the site of former school playing fields in Nottingham have been approved.Starfish Commercial sought the go-ahead from Nottingham City Council to build the residential properties on land forming part of the Melbury Road Primary School playing fields.The site is now vacant and is accessed from the end of College Way.The scheme comprises a mixture of two and three-bed homes, split between affordable rent and shared ownership. The proposed homes are all two or single-storey.Electric vehicle charge points are provided to all homes for the in-curtilage parking space.The rented homes will be owned and managed by Nottingham Community Housing Association, adding to approximately 2,500 properties which it currently manages in the city.Additionally, the scheme will be partly financed by grant funding from Homes England.The development has now been approved, subject to conditions.
