Approval for housing on former industrial site

Planning permission has been granted for a development of housing on a former industrial site in Leeds.Chartford Developments submitted an application to Leeds City Council last year for the redevelopment of the former Minerva Works and Glenoit Mills works site in Woodlesford.The 5.7-acre site has been vacant since the demolition of the building a number of years ago.The plans comprise the construction of 67 homes on the site. A total of 21 homes and 46 houses are proposed, with a mix of one-, two-, three and four bed units.The development includes 15 per cent affordable housing provision (ten units) and new areas of public open space.The council has now granted planning permission, subject to conditions, under delegated powers.The project team includes Walker Morris, TMS, ADS Ltd, Eastwood and Partners, NTP Transport Engineers, Redmore Environmental, PDA Acousticians, TEL Landscape Architects, JCA Arboriculturists, Brooks Ecological and Bowman Riley.
