A 115,000 sq ft office building designed to “set the benchmark for sustainable commercial development” has been given the green light for a site in Salford.The English Cities Fund – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England – is behind the proposals.A fossil-fuel free building that will run solely on 100 per cent renewable electricity, it will comprise 11 storeys with ground-floor retail space on a gateway plot opposite Two New Bailey.Designed by Make Architects – the architectural practice behind the Three New Bailey and Four New Bailey office buildings – it will also include a living façade that has been designed to remove air pollutants.The project team included Avison Young, Cundalls, Make, Woolgar Hunter, Atelier 10, RPS, Chroma, Ball & Berry, Wintech, OFR, Re-form and WSP.
