Approval for Northfield Hostel proposals
Hybrid plans earmarked for the site of the former Northfield Hostel in Oxford have advanced.The proposals concern both the building and surrounding area, which includes a dis-used sports pitch accessed off Bampton Close.Lined up is demolishing Northfield Hostel and building a pair of four-storey blocks in its place, comprising 51 affordable flats.The existing sports pitch, subject to an outline application, will be redeveloped to provide ten homes front Bampton Close.The application had been recommended for approval ahead of Oxford City Council’s planning committee meeting, with the on 8 March, with a recommendation for approval.
