Approval given for 227 homes north of Dysart Road in Grantham
Planning permission for 227 homes on land north of Dysart Road, was on 9 February granted by South Kesteven District Council, subject to conditions.Constable Homes successfully applied to build 227 two storey homes and gardens, as well as inner roads and a play area, on 5.9 hectares of land situated behind properties 372 to 400 Dysart Road.The application had previously been before SKDC’s development control committee in March 2015, but deferred as members were not satisfied with the level of affordable housing that was being proposed, less than the expected 35 per centThe applicants have since undertaken further work on the viability of the scheme, including making reductions to construction costs, and are now offering to meet the full 35 per cent affordable housing level.Today committee members voted unanimously in favour of approving the application, subject to the signing of a Section 106 agreement.Contributions to be made by the developers as part of this agreement include more than £900,000 to Lincolnshire County Council for education, and £200,000 to LCC Highways in order to make junction improvements at Dysart Road, Barrowby Gate and Trent Road.
