Approval lined up for Blackpool sports facilities
Plans to extend the South Shore Cricket, Squash and Rugby Club look set to get the go-ahead.Proposals were drawn up and submitted last year for a single-storey changing facilities building. This would be used in conjunction with the sports pitches at the site.Sport England has raised concerns but a report drawn up ahead of Blackpool Council’s planning committee meeting today (8 June) noted that the scheme is considered to be in “full accordance” with the recently adopted Playing Pitch Strategy. The same report notes that Sport England is anticipated to withdraw its objection after new information was submitted.Approval has been recommended.
