Approval nears for apartment blocks demolition
A pair of apartment blocks could soon be brought down to make way for a new development.The application concerns Crossbank House and Summervale House, which lie in a gateway location into Oldham.Proposed is demolishing both and replacing them with 26 homes and 66 apartments in an eight-storey building.A report drawn up ahead of Oldham Council’s planning committee, which will take place on 9 June, noted that the scheme would contribute to addressing “much needed affordable housing” in the town.Approval has been recommended.
