Approval nears for Chester Racecourse developments

A pair of major leisure improvements lined up for Chester Racecourse look set to be given the green light next week.Two applications will go before the planning committee at Cheshire West and Chester Council, the first being the erection of a split-level rooftop terrace above part of the existing pavilion building.This would be installed on the northern part of the site, with elements that project out beyond the building footprint. It would also involve building a glazed canopy and screen sited to the North of the Paddock Club building.The second is seeking approval for a restaurant with a first-floor viewing terrace. This would also involve an outside seating area with a retractable canopy, hard and soft landscaping works, and the replacement of the existing standing viewing steps. Attached to the restaurant would be an al-fresco dining experience, which will allow the dining and drinking experience to be continued outside.Both applications have been recommended for approval, with the planning committee set to meet on 4 December.
