Approval nears for Warrington development
Plans for a ten-storey mixed-use scheme in Warrington look set to move ahead next week.The application concerns a plot on Bank Street, which is currently occupied by a two-storey office building.Proposed is demolishing this asset and building a sizeable replacement on the same plot.Lined up is an eight-to-ten-storey replacement building, the main aspect would be 80 apartments.These would be made up of 30 one bedrooms and 50 two bedrooms, with an external amenity space for residents on the eighth floor.The entrance would be from Bank Street.Commercial space is also lined up for the ground floor, which would be split into two smaller units.Occupiers are unknown but various uses are proposed, including office and retail space, as well as a restaurant or bar.A report drawn up ahead of Warrington Council’s development management committee noted that the proposals “are appropriate within the town centre location and make efficient use of the site”.Approval has been recommended.
