Approval recommended for more than 200 homes

Plans for a development of more than 200 homes on a site in South Yorkshire look set to get the go-ahead when they go before councillors tomorrow (27 February 2020).Engie Regeneration, supported by Lichfields and MHA Architects, submitted plans to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council last year for development on a site off Oldgate Lane in Thrybergh.Planning permission is sought for the construction of 237 on land located either side of Oldgate Lane.Engie is set to develop the housing in partnership with Sigma Capital Group, GreatPlaces Housing Group and Sanctuary Homes, with 147 affordable units, 12 shared ownership and 80 private rented sector units proposed.A mix of properties, including flats, detached and semi-detached houses and bungalows, would be built, with a range of one, two, three and four-bed units.The application will be considered by the council’s Planning Committee on 27 February 2020 and is recommended for approval, subject to the signing of a legal agreement, in an officer’s report prepared for the meeting.The site was previously occupied by housing but this has now been demolished.
