Approval recommended for new secondary school
Approval has been recommended for a 600-student girls’ secondary school in Birmingham.The site of the former Starbank Primary School in Hob Moor Road, Small Heath, has been earmarked for the development which would see the construction of a three-storey building to house Eden Girls Leadership Academy.If the plans are approved at a meeting of Birmingham City Council on Thursday 12 September, the existing buildings on the site would be knocked down to make way for the new development as well as a sports hall.The four-form entry school would provide employment for 67 full-time equivalent staff and would replace an existing temporary education facility based on Brunswick Road/Clifton Road in Balsall Heath.
