Approval has been secured from Middlesbrough Council for the development of a new waste processing facility. The application involves the demolition of an existing building so that a new waste processing facility can be constructed, along with associated apparatus and associated external works at AV Dawson’s, 100-acre port and logistics facility at Riverside Park.AV Dawson is a family-owned company offering a range of services across road, rail, land and sea.The approximately 80,000 sq ft unit is intended to be used to process commercial and industrial waste to create pellets, with the building needed to be large enough to house storage areas for both the raw materials coming onto the site and the created pellets before they leave. The approximately 2.8-acre application site is part of the operational AV Dawson Yard, with the area being heavily characterised by industrial buildings/units.The application has now been approved, subject to conditions.
