A proposed development of up to 109 homes in Solihull have been tipped for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.Packington Estate Enterprises Ltd is seeking outline approval from Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to build the residential properties on approximately 8.8 acres of arable land rear of 86 Meriden Road, Hampton In Arden.The scheme comprises a mixture of one and two-bed apartments and two, three and four-bed houses. The proposal will also provide 44 affordable units which equates to 40 per cent affordable housing.Additionally, the applicant intends to include a public area of open space and children’s play facilities at the southern end of the site.The purchase of materials and services in connection with the construction of the dwellings, local employment during the construction period are all economic benefits that weigh in favour of the scheme.The scheme has been recommended for the green light, subject to conditions.
