Ateb Group office plans set for approval
Housing association Ateb Group’s plans to revamp the former Haverfordwest Library to provide replacement office space have been recommended for approval. The proposed development will provide Ateb with replacement office space as it is intended to relocate the company’s headquarters from its current premises at Meyler House, St Thomas’ Green.Due to structural maintenance issues, staff are presently working from home or from temporary office locations. As well as providing for Ateb’s own requirements, the scheme will include additional lettable office space, conference facilities and meeting rooms as well as communal facilities such as a community café at the ground floor level.Work will include internal reconfiguration and structural alterations, changes to the buildings external appearance and improvements to its thermal performance. The applicant has applied for a change of use plus external and internal alterations and refurbishment of the former library building to provide office accommodation, communal cafe and ancillary community uses. The application site is 15,769 sq ft in area and the building’s use as a library ceased in 2012.The application will be considered by Pembrokeshire Council’s planning committee on 3 October and is recommended to be approved, subject to conditions, in an officer’s report prepared for the meeting.
