Avant Homes gets permission to build 252 properties as part of East Kilbride expansion
Avant Homes is to build 252 homes at Jackton on the outskirts of East Kilbride after buying 19 acres of land there.Planning for the £68.8 million development was granted in February by South Lanarkshire Council. Build preparation works are to begin this year with showhomes to follow in May 2021 and Avant’s homes to be completed within five years.It will form part of a growth plan for the area that will add 2,500 homes, a new primary school, five play areas, green space and retail outlets. In February, Cala Homes was given permission to build 173 houses and apartments south east of nearby Eaglesham Road.Avant Homes’ Jackton development will include two, three and four-bedroom homes in 17 of its signature house types.The firm will also contribute more than £6.3 million towards infrastructure including a link road between Lindsayfield and Eaglesham and local education.Stirling-based Avant Homes Scotland is part of the Avant Homes Group, which is building at sites including Dargavel Village in Bishopton, Newtonlees in Dunbar and last week secured planning permission for a 120-home development north of Dundee.
