Birmingham apartment building nears approval
Plans for the construction of an apartment building comprising more than 100 homes in Birmingham have been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.Raybone Developments is seeking planning permission for a seven-storey facility at 240 Holliday Street.The application site comprises a 79-space open surface level car park accessed from Holliday Street surrounded by residential use.The proposed building would provide 106 one- to three-bedroom apartments.Birmingham City Council’s planning committee will review the application on 10 January 2024.A report for the committee said: “The proposed development would see the delivery of residential development in a sustainable location.”The proposed 106 residential units would make a meaningful contribution towards Birmingham’s housing shortfall.”The scheme provides a much-needed mix and contributes towards the regeneration aspirations for this part of the city centre.”
