Birmingham gateway site changes hands
A residential property developer has sold a major gateway site in Birmingham city centre which has permission for almost 70 apartments.The plot earmarked for development intersects Bristol Street and Essex Street at the southern edge of Birmingham.It was sold by The Sandpiper Group to Essex Street (Properties) Ltd for £2.5m.Designed by BPN Architects, the approved scheme of 68 apartments will involve the demolition of existing buildings to make way for a part-seven, part 18-storey tower.The ground floor will comprise two commercial units.The Sandpiper Group was advised by Knight Frank.
