Braintree plans for new fuel depot and HGV park approved
A NEW fuel depot and HGV park is set to be set up in an industrial estate.Braintree Council has given Neil Rimmer planning permission to convert a site at the front of 10 Crittall Drive, Braintree. The site will be home to six 125,000 litre fuel tanks, parking for up to 11 HGV tankers and a new office space.According to the blueprints submitted by Mr Rimmer, the office will provide space for three permanent full-time workers and offer welfare facilities to tanker drivers before and after their shift. An objector to the plans, who works for a company based along Crittall Drive, raised concerns about the introduction of more HGV’s and impact they may have on traffic in the area.Despite the concerns, planning development manager Christopher Paggi approved the scheme, stating it would likely provide extra services to companies based at the industrial estate.
