The transformation of large parts of north Liverpool, associated with the development of Everton’s new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock, looks set for a £45m boost. The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority will meet next week to consider offering a £15m grant and £30m loan for the project, which will provide jobs, training and improved health and wellbeing for local people. The grant will assist with infrastructure work to public space and heritage sites on the land around Bramley-Moore, including the preservation of historic features. The potential loan will support the overall build of the Toffee’s 52,888-seat home.Everton forecast the project will bring more than £1bn to the city region’s economy, attract 1.4 million visitors to the region each year and deliver an additional £237m of social value. The stadium move will also kickstart the Goodison Legacy Project which will redevelop the club’s existing ground into a mix of housing, retail, office space and facilities.
