BUSY ROAD SET TO RECEIVE MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS
Work to improve traffic flow on one of Hull’s busiest highways has been given the go-ahead. The improvement scheme will remove a notorious pinch point in Anlaby Road near Hull Royal Infirmary, allowing two straight ahead lanes in each direction. An agreement has been made to purchase land from the hospital site to enable the work to be undertaken and the carriageway to be widened.Cllr Martin Mancey, cabinet and portfolio holder for Energy City, with responsibility for transport, said: “I am delighted to see this scheme is now progressing, one that I have been campaigning for since the initial plans were brought to light. It also highlights our commitment to our expanding transport infrastructure.
